Winter Fable
Here I was tasked with illustrating, animating, & editing a winter fable, featuring a bird whose wing was broken during a winter storm. The bird trots about, in search of a place to stay, until meeting a kind evergreen who let’s them stay for the winter.
The video required rigging the bird, 2D vector & hand drawn animation, heavy use of gradients, and video editing. I absolutely love how it turned out, the bird is so cute in the company’s orange brand color, and the faces are simple hand drawn animations made in ProCreate, which evoke a sort-of child-like telling.
Storyboard
The storyboard began a rough sketch I created, accompanied with a shortened script I revised based on the classic fable. I began by drawing each frame in ProCreate, and then using Illustrator on the iPad, I then blocked out each scene with shapes. After refining the shapes, I then began experimenting with colors, until we landed on a cool-blue color palette with the company’s orange pop-color for the main character.
All in all, this was a really fun video, and the storyboard process was really enjoyable.
