MyQ - Look Up

Here, I worked with my team at Nomad Editing Company to animate the smoke and debris particles for the Smart Home company, MyQ. The commercial itself had such a fun, comedy driven script + storyboard so the process came very naturally.

I created the smoke particles in Cinema 4D using Turbulence FD- creating two emitters and a sphere that pushes the smoke outward. The leaves I created in Cinema 4D using soft body tags on planes with high res photos of leaves, then used a cloner object with a wind effector to get that tractor beam goodness.

The end result really helped bring the UFO (created by my teammates) into the environment, and the finishing team did an amazing job at uniting all these elements, making a gradual “build up” of tractor beam power.
